About the Role:
Northland Family Care in Kansas City, MO is looking for a friendly and dedicated Patient Services Representative to be the welcoming face of our practice. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' healthcare experiences from the moment they walk through our doors.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner at the front desk
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using practice management software
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays and patient payments
- Accurately enter and update patient demographic and insurance information in the EHR system
- Answer and route incoming phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and relay messages to clinical staff
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- File electronic faxes into the EHR
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or medical office certification preferred
- 1+ year of experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service setting
- Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems and medical billing or insurance verification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and patient privacy standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
